Advanced Curves color adjustment
Professional color and ink control continues with the advanced Curves tool which not only allows control of individual channels (process and spot), but also image alpha. The latter is used by Illustrator for Drop Shadows and Glows; therefore being able to apply a curve targeting these allows users to precisely control shadow profiles and cut-offs.
As is common throughout Phantasm CS, all tools operate directly within Adobe Illustrator and the artwork in the document. Great improvements in workflow efficiency and control is assured!
Advantages of live Effects
Keeping things live and dynamic is all taken in Phantasm CS' stride by using live Effects. Being non-destructive, creative experimentation is a natural by-product. And if your clients do not have Phantasm CS installed—although it's likely to benefit them too—they can still view the live color changes applied.
Ink Coverage
When all editing is complete, a vital check prior to output is that of Ink Coverage. Not only is it necessary to check for composite coverage—but also individual inks—especially if working in a packaging design or flexo environment. Issues that can be detected and avoided with the Ink Coverage tool, and working in combination with other Phantasm CS tools such as Curves, can help avoid major headaches... and cost!
