Astute Graphics acquires Nineblock Software IP
As of 4 May 2011, Astute Graphics Limited has acquired all IP of Nineblock Software. This includes the Adobe Illustrator plugin products "BetterHandles", "SnapMeasure" and "EZConstrain".
Astute Graphics is a leading Adobe Illustrator plugin developer having produced and continuously developed the popular Phantasm CS plugin range of color control and pre-press tools since 2006. Its commitment to the design and publishing market has been well proven, including numerous industry awards.
As of 4 May 2011, Nineblock Software has ceased to trade. Support for Nineblock Software by Astute Graphics will be limited to the supply of lost registration codes, where possible.
On behalf of Nineblock Software, Astute Graphics wishes to thank all the loyal customers of Nineblock Software for the support shown. Through the launch of VectorScribe, Astute Graphics intends to demonstrate that this change will prove to be very positive for existing Nineblock Software and Astute Graphics customers, as well as users of Adobe Illustrator.
VectorScribe - the next stage of Nineblock's products
On 5 May, Astute Graphics launched the new VectorScribe plugin—for Adobe Illustrator CS3 to CS5 on both Windows and Mac OS—to great acclaim.
VectorScribe Designer offers not only a complete replacement for all Nineblock products, but some wonderful enhancements to ensure that users get more from their tools, and quicker. Each tool has been renamed as follows:
"BetterHandles" > "PathScribe"
"SnapMeasure" > "Dynamic Measure"
"EZConstrain" > "Protractor"
As an example, improvements in the PathScribe tool include additional functions with immediately accessible buttons, whilst the Dynamic Measure tool now features a new Panel for quicker access to common options.
To compliment VectorScribe Designer, a new higher-level product has been introduced; VectorScribe Studio. Adding to the three previously-mentioned tools, the Studio edition brings with it wonderful Dynamic Shapes and Dynamic Corners.
The best news is that Astute Graphics is heavily investing in the ongoing development of these tools and has managed to maintain a low price for the products, starting at only £39 — approximately $65 / €45!
