Important!
If you intend to change the computer on which you already have any of the Astute Graphics products already activated, ensure that you first de-activate the license key before making the change. Failure to do so may result in abuse of your license key and subsequent blocking of future activations (refer to the installer EULA).
Astute Graphics Licensing System benefits
Astute Graphics introduced a second-generation licensing system for Phantasm CS v2.5, VectorScribe v1.5 and DrawScribe v1.0. This has brought the added benefits:
- Fully working 14 day trial (increased from 7 days). You can now download the new Trial versions by clicking here...
- The number of purchased licenses now indicates the number of concurrent users permitted to use the license key. It is now possible to install on all necessary computers.
- Upgrade costs between product levels are at cost difference. You keep you license key and we allow it to unlock more tools.
- Single installation for Phantasm CS or VectorScribe. The license key level unlocks the additional features.
- More tolerant of system updates and caters for hardware failures.

Upgrading from Phantasm CS v2 and VectorScribe v1
Customers who previously received license keys for Phantasm CS v2 and VectorScribe v1.0 to v1.2 have been sent an automated replacement license key. This will have been sent to the original purchaser's email address, or if registered by another person, the registrant's email address.
The email was sent 17 February 2012 from the astutegraphics.com domain. Please check your records.
The new license key format is:
XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX
Purchases made on or after 17 February 2012
If you purchased any Astute Graphics product following this date, you will have received a valid license key for the current version.

Activating with a license key
(Mac OS)
(Windows)
- Click on the button
- Copy and paste the license key into the box and click
You may be asked to enter your, or your administrator, password; please do so
- If successful, you will be informed that the plugin is activated and confirmation of the number of concurrent users permitted
- Click and further confirmation of the plug-in version/level licensed may be seen in the window
- Click on the button to close the window and restart Illustrator to ensure you have access to the plug-in toolset

The activation process may be repeated on all computers to be used by the concurrent user(s).
Activations are applied for a whole computer. It is therefore possible to simultaneously operate, various versions of Illustrator simultaneously on a single computer using a single activation.
Purchasing a license upgrade
Astute Graphics licenses may be upgraded at any time at a cost-difference only.
Click here to start the upgrade process. You will require either the original Astute Graphics invoice number or the email address used to purchase the original license key.
Upgrades are offered at cost-difference.
Adding to the number of permitted concurrent users
The upgrade process allows for additional concurrent users to be added to a license. Take advantage of accumulative discounts!
Please remember that is a license key is abused by, for example, having too many users concurrently, you are at risk to the license key being voided!
Applying an upgrade license key
If you purchase an upgraded license key for a plugin (for example, upgrading from a Designer to Studio edition), take the following steps to apply the new key:
Open the window by following:

- Click on the button and confirm
- Having returned to the About window, click on the button
- Copy and paste the upgrade license key supplied from the upgrade confirmation email
- Following confirmation of a successful activation, quit and restart Illustrator to access the upgraded tools
De-activating your computer
If you intend to change computer, discarding your existing licensed computer, it is essential that you first de-activate your license. Failure to do so may result in abuse of your license key which will result in the key being blocked for future use!
When ready to de-activate your computer, open the window by following:

- Click on the button
- Confirm that you intend to de-activate your computer
- Following confirmation, close the confirmation and window
- Restart Illustrator
It is possible to re-activate the computer at a later date by following the previous activation instructions.

- Check for Updates: opens a website page detailing the latest public versions of Phantasm CS or VectorScribe ready for download.
- Buy/Upgrade: if you are still operating in the Trial period, this will take you to the online purchase web page. If you are already operating a licensed version of the plugin, you will be taken directly to the upgrade page. If your license number is available, following a security check, you can proceed immediately with the upgrade process without need of the original invoice number.
