When Phantasm CS Designer | Studio | Publisher for Adobe Illustrator was launched very recently, it brought with it a new and flexible and licensing system. One key advantage is that everybody is now able to fully sample the complete Phantasm CS range functionality with a new 7 day trial version before deciding to buy. It also allows customers to transfer licenses, and change between operating systems and Illustrator CS3, CS4 and CS5 without the need to purchase license upgrades.

Now that the release has been well-established, we are continuing to listen to customers and fine-tune our products to ensure they remain a number one Adobe Illustrator tool. The latest benefit is that as we are now allowing users to install Phantasm CS Designer | Studio | Publisher version 2 on a secondary computer without additional charge*.

Going mobile

It is understood that many users have a desktop and laptop computer on which they work with Adobe Illustrator. Astute Graphics’ revised licensing policy will allow these second machines to be installed simultaneously. This removes the requirement to use the License Manager to de-license an existing installation to transfer to a secondary computer.

Our new policy is intended to allow users to only install their second license on a “parallel” machine on which a single person works. It allows the registered owner of the license to install on one more machine than indicated by their purchased volume. We ask that users do not abuse this policy and treat it as a second “free” license to be used by two operators independently.

Existing version 2 customers

Customers who have already purchased, or upgraded to Phantasm CS Designer | Studio | Publisher version 2 will find that their license key has been automatically updated to reflect this new licensing policy.

*Conditions

We originally chose to provide a strict single installation policy due to the level of piracy experienced in previous versions of Phantasm CS. Therefore we reserve the right to reverse this policy at any time if we detect abuse of the system; this may be applied on an individual basis or globally to all users.
