DrawScribe version 1.1 upgrade preview

Updated 13 June 2012

DrawScribe version 1.1 is now available to download and the upgrade movie now final version.

DrawScribe has become a very popular plugin for Illustrator users since Astute Graphics launched it earlier in 2012. Its focus on the vector design creative workflow allows users to work faster, more accurately and more intuitively in Illustrator than ever before.

But there’s always things to improve on. So, following some excellent user feedback and some further examination of the drawing process, we are due to release version 1.1 shortly — a free upgrade to all existing customers.

Call for beta testers and CS6

DrawScribe v1.1 has already been undergoing internal testing for some time now and has proven to be a deceptively invaluable upgrade, further booting productivity. If you are a DrawScribe customer and would like to test this latest build, please contact us and we’ll be happy to welcome you aboard!

This release will initially be for Illustrator CS3 to CS5.1 only. It is likely to be the last upgrade prior to beta releases of CS6-compatible versions of our products expected summer 2012. For the latest information about CS6 development progress, which is due to be updated later this month, please visit the CS6 AG blog news section.

Many thanks to all those who responded to help beta test DrawScribe version 1.1!

  1. These are three absolutely pitch-perfect improvements. They are precisely responsive to the very few DrawScribe “habits” that slow me down. Perhaps more important is what they say about Astute Graphics… about how uncommonly attuned you all are to the nuances of vector illustration and design.

I became a devotee when VectorScribe was released. DrawScribe cemented my loyalty. So let’s just say this upgrade establishes my allegiance irreversibly.

(By the by, does the shift key convention for gesture trimming work even if you have the Wacom in your hand?)

  2. Thanks for the kind words, Doug! Glad it’s of interest.

There are further more minor updates in this release which are all equally focused on the overall creative workflow. We’ll send you a beta test link so you can find out about it all…

And regarding having a Wacom in your hand… sure!
